Adding Another Year

Yes folks, I am 25 now. It has happened again. May 25th came and went adding another year to my life. The past year has brought some wonderful things and i am excited to see what this year has in store for me!

For my birthday i had wonderful gifts and wishes sent from wonderful friends and family! Macade got me a birthday balloon and Cory treated me to a little gift (the tool kit for my cricut cutter), chinese dinner at home, and one of my favorite desserts: Chocolate Cream Pie (the dessert i really love he does not know how to make and i was not going to make it for myself). All in All it was a great birthday!

Wedding Day

Ashley and Kyle tied the knot for Time and all Eternity on May 1st. It was a wonderful day. I just love weddings. Seeing the couple so in love and twitterpaited, relights the spark that our children tend to dim!

Some of you know that i was putting the reception together. It was A LOT of work but so worth it to see the outcome. On Friday night we were up at the church until 3am setting up most of the decorations. I had to wait on my centerpieces because the flower place messed up my order and sent me the wrong flowers. After a lot of crying in the middle of the store and stressing, we got it worked out. But i could not get the flowers until Saturday morning! My goal was to transform the gym so it did not look so much like a gym. We added a faux ceiling to help make it more personal. We got to bed about 3:45 am and i pulled myself out of bed at 4:45 to get myself ready and do the bride's hair! Yes, i ran the rest of the day on 45 min of sleep. CRAZY!

I was called the wedding planner a couple times that night and i guess i was. I carried the night so it flowed smooth from the cake cutting to the dancing to the leaving, etc. It was a wonderful night. the most important thing is the Bride and Groom enjoyed themsleves. Here are some pics of the event!!!

Daddy

Well, it came and went, even though i did not think it would. Some days were awful and some were not too bad. Each night comes and still do not get into bed without saying good-night to him. Still miss him terribly, of course, but getting by.

Daddy,
I love you so much and miss you. I hope your year in heaven has been better than my year here on earth without you. It is hard, but we just keep going as i know you want us to. I know i still talk to you all the time, but i warned you of that before you went. There is no hiding from your little talker here, not even death can make you escape my non-stop jabbering!!! The best part, I know you are listening when you can! Love you and counting down the days till i see you again! (hopefully it goes faster for you, because it seems way too long here!!!)

Anniversary Getaway

Cory surprised me with a fabulous getaway for our anniversary. He shipped the kids off to Grandma's and we headed up to Seattle. He had reserved a suite for us at the Homewood Suites with a huge Jacuzzi tub in our bathroom. It was bliss.

Our beautiful hotel!

Before we checked into the hotel he brought me to Ipanepa Brazilian Grill. (For those who don't know, Cory served in Brazil on his mission). That was amazing. There is a buffet of several different Brazilian side dishes. Delicious! And along with that, you have guys rotating around the restaurant with huge sword skewers with slabs of meat on them. They cut a slice off for you at your table for you to try. They come around many times and you can you have what you want! Their meats range from buffalo, pork, Tri tip, pepper steak, fillet mignon, garlic shrimp, garlic steak, bacon wrapped turkey and bacon wrapped steak, Wild boar, and much more!!! They also brought around a cinnamon grilled pineapple which was wonderful. All in all it was a wonderful dining experience! A real treat.
One of the workers bringing around some meat! Just so you get an idea.

The next day we headed to Pikes place market and walked down by the water front. It was so romantic and nice to just be with my honey without the children. I could just focus all my attention on him and his on me! It was so wonderful!

The beautiful flowers at the market. Yes you see those beautiful bouquets with the tulips are only $5. Cory bought me a beautiful one for only $10 and now i am enjoying them in my home!
Just some of the beautiful flowers they had. There are thousands!
We tried to get the Pikes Place sign in but it was just not happening! At least we got the Farmer's Market sign.
All in all it was such a wonderful getaway. He truly spoiled me! I am very excited for our next little vacation together at the end of the year! If we ever get there!

New Dessert

So a couple of weeks ago, Cory and I went to the temple with our dear friends, Bryan and Celeste. Before that though, we hit up the Cheesecake factory and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and an amazing dessert consisting of Red Velvet Cheesecake. It is a layer of Red Velvet cake topped with cheesecake topped with another layer of RV cake and again with Cheesecake all frosted in a delectable butter cream frosting! Well, being the baking lover that i am i decided to try to venture out and recreate this dessert. With a few mishaps, i succeeded and i know that next time will be better because i learned a lot from my trial. So Celeste, i did it and i will share my secrets with you. It was a tedious process but not very hard. just a lot of steps! Here is a picture, not the best quality. Sorry i could not cut it and show you what it looks like inside (it is beautiful!!!), this one was going to a friend! Next one i will show the inside!

Easter Day!!!

Easter day came and went and was wonderful. Macade understood why we celebrate Easter, the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. But along with that, i made sure my boys got some of the fun of Easter as well. I made sure that the Easter Bunny came and brought those boys something special! It was not a beautiful day, but it was not raining so we actually got to hunt for eggs and baskets outside this year. That's a first for Macade!! So out we went to "play soccer", and lo and behold, there were eggs all over the yard. Macade went crazy. Braxton loved to gather them too. It was so much fun to watch their faces light up whenever they found another egg. And when the baskets were found, words would not express the excitement from the boys.

Searching for the Eggs!

Braxton and his basket. He was happy enough with his eggs!
Macade thought the Easter Bunny ran out of baskets because he could not find his. So with a little bit of help, and a lot of searching....he found it and went berserk.

With their Easter Baskets.
Totally Cheesin' it!

Too Much Alike

Aunt Kay obviously likes to share her sunglasses. The bottom is Macade at 17 months with her Glasses and the top is Braxton at 11 months with her glasses. They look so alike. I love it!

DISNEYLAND

So we did our family vacation this year and headed down to Disneyland. We saved for a while for this vaca and loved every minute of it. We flew down on Thursday March 11 and stayed till monday March 15. We were able to spend the weekend with the best sister in the world...MINE... and enjoy her and her hubby's company. We spent 3 days in Disneyland/Disney California Adventure and wore ourselves out. I will admit, i pushed my kids and i know they loved it. We stayed between about 9-10:00 everynight. And not one fuss from the kids. Grandma drove down and joined us for our second day in Disneyland. She enjoyed being with her grandkids and i enjoyed being with my mom! Once again, it was wonderful and adventurous. You see Disneyland in a whole new light with little ones and it really brought the magic out. The way Macade would light up when he saw one of the characters was priceless!! Macade and Braxton are Daredevils. They did all the rides that hight requirements would allow them to. Even Pirates, it was SO FUN! Excuse all the pictures...we went picture happy (and these are just the surface)!!! Oh and a side note...excuse my large sunglasses, what can i say, my Califonia roots come out once in a while!
It all starts here....
