Bathtime Fun

I love to play with Macade in the bath. We have fun with all of his bath toys and the bubbles. The other day we gave ourselves bubble beards. He got a kick out of it, as did I.

Macade and Braxton decided they wanted a bath together. They had a lot of fun playing together in the tub! Too Cute! (And in these pictures you can totally see the difference in their skin color. Braxton is way darker than Macade. Kind of funny.)

Keeping Life Interesting

Macade is always making me laugh. I don't know where he comes up with some of the things that he says, but some of them are so cute and funny i had to share them.

1. When we are in the car listening to the radio or in the house i will sing along to the songs and so will macade if he knows the words. (which most the time he does). the other day i was singing to a song and macade looked at me and said "No mom, they don't need help." I just had to laugh. I guess my singing was ruining the song!!

2. I am trying to teach Macade some good manners. about 3 weeks ago he came up to me and asked for some water. It went a little like this:

Macade: Mom, would you mind getting me some more water
Mom: I can do that for you
Macade: I would really appreciate that.

He now says appreciate often and in the right context. Quite impressive.

3. Macade gets frustrated when we don't give him what he wants. What 3 year old doesn't. His newest thing is like the example that follows.

Macade: Mom can i play with Daddy's fast car (that would be his remote control car)
Mom: No baby, not today.
Macade: But why mommy
Mom: Because Daddy does not want you playing with it unless he is home.
Macade: But that would make me happy.

My usual response to this is "Well then you better go find something else that will make you happy."

4. Macade came out of the bathroom the other day and ran in to tell me what had happened.

Macade: Mom I got a poop out
Mom: Good job sweetie
Macade: It was a totally big poop!

He is 100% boy!!! Makes Cory proud!

Grandma's Little Football Man

My mom loves football. She always says that if one of her grandkids plays football she would not miss a game! Well, Braxton has the build of a football player. We say that Macade will be our soccer player because he is tall and lean and Braxton will be the football player because he is husky like one. Braxton loves this little football so i had to get a picture for Grandma. Be prepared to attend lots of games Mom!!

Last Minute and Lovin' it!

One of my friends just adopted their second son about 2 weeks ago. He is 5 months old and big like Braxton, so I love that someone else has a big boy like mine and they are the same age!! I just got a call yesterday that there is going to be a baby shower thrown for her and Dillan. So of course, any excuse to get together with a bunch of my girl friends i am there. But what to bring. Cory and I are on a strict budget and trying to be good at it. So I was not really able to go out and buy anthing for her. So I started my mind rolling and came up with a last minute gift from things around my home! A Diaper Cake. When Macade was potty trained i still had a TON of size 4 diapers that he did not use. Dillan will probably be in them in the next month or so like Braxton, perfect! I found some great blue and brown ribbon, perfect. I did have to run to the store to get the teddy bear for 3 dollars, but i figured i could choke on that:-) So here is my Diaper cake that i made for only 3 dollars!! Go Me. Very last minute but i am lovin it!!! Compliments welcome:-)

Cooling Off

Up here in Washington we have broken every record for summers past. We have had an insane heat wave hit our area causing many problems...one of which is EXTREMELY hot houses. Yes, there is no A/C in any of the homes here because there reallly is no need for them....usually. But this summer says different. This week we have not gone below 95 degrees. Tuesday it was 104 degrees here in Lakewood! Yes, imagine that with no a/c. Lets just say that my house was 89 degrees by 4:00 pm. It was 81 degrees by 9 am. And yes i am opening every window at night sticking all my fans in them trying to cool the house off. But that is hard to do when it only gets as low as 69 degrees at night. *sigh*. Needless to say it is hot, and miserable so Macade, Braxton, Cory and i sat out in our pool for a few hours just to cool off. It is sad when the city is celebrating when we see 85 degrees on the 5 day forcast. Ha Ha!

Update

Alright. Just wanted to update on Braxton's "issues". After 3 days of no naps and over a month of waking up once at night taking an hour or more to fall back asleep we have solved the problem! For the last 3 days Braxton has taken 3 amazing naps and has slept 11.5 hours at night without waking for 2 nights in a row! He is back to his happy, sweet, content self! Life is going good again. I have 2 children who are happy and content and they have a mom who is happy and content. The home is just all around a happy place to be again! YAY!!

Breaking Point

When is my breaking point. I think I am reaching it quite quickly. Braxton just refuses to take good naps the last 2 days. No naps for him=cranky baby. I have tried all i know. Swaddling, unswaddling, rocking to settle, crying himself, name it, i have done it. He wont settle down. i put him down at 4 and is still crying at 4:40. He sleeps good during the night which is good but come on, the day is a killer. It gets to the point that i wonder what the heck was i thinking starting a family when i was so darn young. Don't get me wrong, i love my children and would never trade them for the world. But if you are a mother you know those moments come when you think, "what would it be like without these kids." I hope i can fix it soon because i am reaching my breaking point. And for those of you who know me, unfortunatly it does not take me long to get there. Any advice i would be happy to hear it! Thanks for listening to me vent.

PS: by the end of writing this he has settled down. maybe i have done something right!

Just Darn Cute

Just some random pictures that I took. I love my little family. I thank God every day for my adorable family! I love them so much. You never understand a mother's love until you are one! Being a mom and a wife is the best thing in the world.

Flower Garden

Macade loves to help me water the flower beds i have in the back yard. It is one of his chores and luckily he likes this one. (Well, actually, he likes most of them. Odd. I will enjoy this while i can!!)
Little cutie watering!
My relief Society is doing a Zucchini growing contest! Its my first time growing anything edible. Wish me luck!

Funny Comment!!

Alright, i went on a posting spree today so make sure you read the 3 post today if you have some time to waste:-) So today I was getting Macade ready and we went into the bathroom to do his hair. He is in dire need of a haircut so i could not do my normal spike because it looked really odd with such long hari. So i styled it in a mohawk instead. It was the first time i had done this. When i was all done i told him to look in the mirror at his new style. He turned and smiled and said...

"Am I a dinasour today?"

Ha Ha. I did not even think of that. That it looked like a fin on one of his dinasours. Kids think of the funniest things. I laughed pretty hard at that one. I love this kid. He brings such joy into my life!

First Bites

Ok so i am little behind on this one. About 2 weeks ago, Friday the 12th, Braxton had his first bites of solids. It was fun to feed to him. He struggled of course the first couple times but now he is a pro. He is a very fast learner just like his brother. We love it! I have a video of the big occasion but just did not upload it. Sorry!

"Oooh something new."

"What the heck was that stuff mom?"

"Oh No, not again!!"
