Happy Father's Day

Oh I loved those times when I would sit at home and just wait for that garage door to open and hear your truck rumble on in telling me you're home for the day. The Best!

Oh I remember when we would walk side by side with my arm in yours and you would give mine a little squeeze with that cute smile of yours. The Best!

Oh I remember the times I would sit in the office and listen to you in the shower breaking out in one of your many favorite tunes. The Best!

Oh I remember that smile and bear hug you would give me when I would come home for holidays or just for the heck of it. The Best!

Oh I remember the many times I would tell you how much I love you and with your most sincere and beautiful tone you would repeat those words back. The Best!

Oh how I can not wait to have all of that again! But for now I will just "Oh Remember" cause I am happy I have that!

Happy Father's Day Daddy. I love you. You're The Best!!

Happy Birthday

Today is Cory's birthday. He is slowly creeping toward the year he exits out of his twenties while his beautiful, youthful wife still has quite a few years till she exits her "youth". I asked Macade what he wanted to get Daddy for his birthday and he said balloons! So we went to the party store and he picked out the balloons for daddy all by himself. He was very proud. I told Cory i would make him any cake his little heart desired, his dream cake. Really, any shape, flavor, type, texture, ingredients, anything. You know what he chose...Rainbow chip cake from a box with rainbow chip frosting. I love my simple husband. So here is a shout out to the love of my life....Happy Birthday honey. I love you so much!

Just a Walkin'

We headed out to the water again for a beautiful summer's walk. Macade earns these walks by helping around the house and being a good listener and obeying (all recent FHE lessons). He loves to go and throw the rocks.

Macade and Daddy, He played in the Water, threw rocks and rode his bike! (And no, i am not talking about Cory:-)

Braxton and Mommy enjoying life!

We've got another one who loves being outside. He loved dangling his feet in the water!

Daddy's Funeral

So I said that I would post pictures of my Daddy's funeral. It was a difficult day to get through, as you can imagine, but really a beautiful one. David and Trent both spoke followed by Jeff and Kris Page singing "Consider the Lilies". Then it was closed by Uncle Doug, Daddy's brother. It was a wonderful tribute for my Father!!
The Pallbearers were honored to carry my Father to his final resting place in Salt Lake City Cemetary. They included some of my Dad's dearest friends: Barrie Brewer and Steve Kambell. Of course my brothers: David Wright & Trenton Wright. My husband and brother-in-law: Cory Ross & Mark Morrell and my Dad's brother and brother-in-law: Doug Wright & Kirk Mackert. What a sight to see!

A Week Away

A Memorial Service was held in my Daddy's honor on Tuesday, May 19 in Clayton CA. It was a beautiful service. On Wednesday we drove up to Utah where his final resting place would be and had his final Funeral with Family and and dear friends of his. (Pictures to come). After the Funeral we headed up to our dear friends Kathy Kay and Barrie's cabin in utah just to get away and be together as a family and try to recover from our loss. It was a wonderful time together!

Jonathan Carl Wright

It pains me to write this post. My family and I have tried to prepare for this day for a long time now. My Father was diagnosed with terminal Liver Cancer on August 3, 2007. They gave him 3 months to live. 21 months, an incredible fight, and amazing faith Jonathan Carl Wright passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 8:48 pm.

So to my Daddy. He will be deeply missed. I love him always and forever.

To an amazing Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Grandfather, and one of my BEST friends.

Bringing Humor

Macade is always bringing humor to my life which makes it worth getting up in the Morning! The other day he grabbed a blanket, pillow and a play phone. You know, the ones with the cord and the spinning dile? Well, he layed on the fireplace and called it the doctor's bed.

Macade: Mamma i am waiting for the Doctor.

Me: Really, why are you at the doctor?

Macade: I have to get checked.

Me: Oh well i hope that you are ok!

Macade: Me too

He then proceeds to pull up his shirt, go get lotion to put on his belly, and place the ear piece of the phone on his belly. He starts to move it around his tummy.

Macade: The doctor says everything looks really good.

Me: Oh, why is he looking at your tummy?

Macade: He was checking the baby inside and taking pictures!!!!

Me: (Just a burst of Laughter)

It is very funny to me that he came to enough doctor's appointments with me while i was pregnant with Braxton that he knows about the Ultrasound and the Doppler (the instrument that you hear the heart beat). He knew to put "gel" on and all. WAY too funny!!!

Early Bird Special

Alright, the days of sleeping have been gone for a while, and it is not because of Braxton. He sleeps 11 hours at night. Macade on the other hand is another story. He is my early bird. He likes to get up at 6:30 am and start the day while Braxton is more of a 7:00 person. The first thing he does is come in my bed and say "Mama time to get up. Get out of this bed!" Wonderful i know. I have tried to teach him to stay in bed. We have done the alarm clock thing but now that Braxton is in his room It will wake him up. This morning he did his usual come and get me routine and I lost it. After some yelling and such i have decided to try something else! So my new test is to teach him to take care of himself in the morning until Mom gets up...which is about 30 min after him. I am teaching him to get the cereal box and just eat it out of the box, turn on some cartoons (which these days is not just a botton its like 10, rediculous), and just chill till i get up. I will have to report after a couple of days. Pray for me:-)

Pacific Science Center

On Saturday we headed out to the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. It is just a big "museum" with lots of hands on things for kids. I got some pictures but Macade was going so fast between things since there was so much to do it was hard for me to capture good pictures. We met up with Cory's parents and enjoyed a day out. Macade loved it. We will definitly be heading back this summer!
Macade touching a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach! He is braver than mom!!!

Flying out in Space!

Working a Tractor. He had to pick up the Metal Balls with Grandpa Ross

Cory riding a bike with Braxton. He loved it, by the look on his face. Cory on the other hand had to go very fast to get him to smile and as you can see was in some pain!!

The family outside by the Whale Tail fountain!

Chocolate Chip Cake

We had a Linger Longer today after church and I brought some dessert. I love to bake and make desserts. Honestly, i get excited when i have a reason to make something!! There were requests for the recipe to my Chocolate Chip Cake. Here it is below. WAY EASY!!

1 box of Yellow Cake Mix
Chocolate Chips
1 container of Chocolate Frosting(can be home made if you want)

Follow cake mix box instructions to mix the cake. In a blender chop up the chocolate chips till a little smaller. Stir in the chocolate chips into the cake mix and pour into a bunt pan. Bake as the box instructs. When done let cool for about 10 minutes then remove from pan. Zap chocolate frosting until flows off a spoon. Not completly melted, make sure it is still slightly thick. Pour a little amount on a section of the cake to test. It should slowly drizzle down the sides of the cake on its own. The heat of the cake should help soften it the rest of the way so it will drizzle. If it does not, zap the frosting again until desired results. Use the amount of Frosting to your liking! I use about 3/4 of a container! ENJOY!!
